Good day to you chums! (By the way - you can find more of my amazing High Tea hints here: http://highteaqueen.wordpress.com/)
I’m Monique Bradley, Actor, Singer, Entertainer, Presenter and MC.
I have a huge background in food appreciation due to growing up with a mother who is a home economics teacher. I grew up in her kitchen, which was always on the go and from a young age I was cooking scones and other baked goods.
I have such fond memories of standing at the kitchen bench and looking at myself in the window in front of me to watch my performance as ‘Alison Holst’ – the Queen of New Zealand Home Cooking since her first appearance in the 1960′s.
I have had the great fortune of working as MC of ‘The Food Show’ in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch for the last 13 years.  One of the highlights for me so far has been to meet and work with Alison, my childhood cooking Idol who has been a presenter at the show and I believe I was so nervous, I curtseyed….It’s all a blur.
OK, So I’ll be honest, I’m not terribly good in the kitchen when it comes to cooking meals, but I LOVE baking and am certainly an excitable consumer and lover of this incredible tradition!
For me, the biggest buzz about High Tea is the tradition.  For 1-2 hours, you are sitting and enjoying.  All the stresses of life disappear as you make the most of the incredible baked delights in front of you, chat with your girlfriend (or boy friend) and solve the problems of the world. I’m convinced that there would be less world problems if the great leaders of the world took tea together.
This blog will be dedicated to the following:
My favourite High Tea Venues
High Tea Venues in Auckland (where I currently reside)
High Tea Venues In NZ
High Tea Venues around the world
The difference between High Tea and Afternoon Tea
High Tea and Brunch
High Tea at the…..(you can help me fill in the blanks with your suggestions or invitations)577718_10151026441519595_1766145309_n

And recipes for different yummy things – as well as a suggestion on Etiquette, what to wear, what to do and a little more about the tradition of this incredible experience.
I look forward to loading reviews and organising events as well so make sure you start following my blog so you can redeem your invitation!
Be well!
